This Information Center for Adult Allies provides all the information and support you need to support youth through their Philly 4 Life skills-building journey. You can also see our FAQ’s (and answers), know who to call in various situations and learn about other resources and activities associated with Philly 4 Life.

Get familiar with the Information Center content so you will be ready to help onboard youth into Philly 4 Life and make the most of their experience. Here are some highlights of the key steps:

  • Watch the brief informational videos created especially for our Adult Allies.
  • Make sure youth fill out a short online survey on their current knowledge, attitudes and behaviors. This will allow us to measure how participating in Philly 4 Life positively impacts youth.
  • Sample the course/curriculum for yourself. Then you will understand exactly how young people will move through the process.
  • Use the culturally-relevant postcards and digital media as springboards to discuss each of the four major lessons with your assigned youth.
  • Make a warm connection to a local mental wellness service provider, so youth will be aware of behavioral health resources if/when they are needed.

Adult Ally Roles and Responsibilities

Watch the Adult Ally Roles & Responsibilities Video to review the key steps you will execute with your assigned youth.

Youth Enrollment Form

Review the Youth Enrollment Form (which youth will use as they onboard) so you will be prepared to support your assigned youth through the beginning steps.

Short Online Survey for Youth

Completing the questions in the online survey is where we see the most delays in the onboarding process. Click on the button to download a PDF copy of the survey so you can help your matched teen understand how to complete it and be approved to start the Philly 4 Life lessons.

Postcards for ALL Philly 4 Life Lessons

Download PDFs of the postcards youth will access in the four Philly 4 Life lessons. Review the content to prepare for a discussion with your assigned youth.

Videos for ALL Philly 4 Life Lessons

After reviewing the postcards, watch the video lessons that match each of the four topics. Youth will watch these videos, then come to you to discuss and process what they’ve learned.

Take the Course

Move through the entire curriculum, so you can see how young people will experience it. This can give you some sense of how long it might take for youth to complete each lesson and where they may get stuck and need your assistance.

Making a Warm Connection to Mental Health: Adult Ally Training Videos

Adult Allies will help their matched youth research and identify a local behavioral health provider in their community. If possible, the Adult Ally can accompany their youth to learn more about the services offered. Watch these three (3) short videos for details on why and how to make this “warm connection.”
